Jennifer Hudson hit the studio to record a special rendition of “Proud Mary” last week.
According to RCA, the track will be released on a forthcoming collaborative album.
Teaming up with John Fogerty in a New Orleans studio, the songstress put her own spin on the Creedence Clearwater Revival song. Allen Toussaint, as well as Rebirth Brass Band washboard player Rockin’ Dopsie and accordion player Anthony “Dopsie” Rubin contributed to the revamped version as well.
“Proud Mary” will be featured on Fogerty’s collaboration album. Titled “Wrote a Song for Everyone,” the project will also feature Kid Rock, Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. It is set for release October 9.
As previously reported, Hudson has plans to record her third studio album this Summer. It is a follow up to her 2011 effort “I Remember Me.”
