Earlier Today New York daily News gossip duo Rush and Molly reported that 50 Cent was looking to sign Ashanti, in hopes to plot revenge on Murder Inc. The site says Ashanti wanted to leave the label because she has been furious that Irv Gotti wouldn’t deny rumors that they’d had an affair. “She was pissed,” says our source, “And now 50 Cent is trying to get her to be a part of G-Unit.” According to Ashantiâs camp, âthis is not true.â VIBE reached out to Universal records, which confirmed the rumors were false and that the 27-year-old singer will remain with The Inc. Records/Universal Motown. 50 Cent previously made unflattering remarks about Ashanti in the past, when he was attacking The Inc.âs rapper Ja Rule but he reportedly called and apologized to the R&B star for all his verbal smacks.
