R&B crooner continues to support his hot-selling sophomore set as he steps out for a handful of shows across the US in the coming weeks. The singer/songwriter will play Memphis, TN’s Fall Fest tonight (9/28) before heading out for a run of dates on the East Coast and West Coast next month. His itinerary currently wraps with a Nov. 3 concert in Pine Bluff, AR. Details are listed below. In May, Ne-Yo scored his second No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 with the release of “Because of You.” The set has spawned the singles “Do You,” “Can We Chill” and the title track, videos for which are streaming here. Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Smith) made a name for himself at a young age writing songs for the likes of multiplatinum-selling artists including Mary J. Blige, B2K, Faith Evans and Musiq, according to his label, Def Jam. He co-wrote one of urban radio’s most-played songs of 2004, “Let Me Love You,” performed by R&B singer Mario, as well as Beyonce’s No. 1 single “Irreplaceable.” Despite his own success as an artist, Ne-Yo continues to write for others. Recently, the Grammy-nominated singer has been working on songs for Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Britney Spears, according to his bio.
