Love has no age limit and the recent engagement announcement by the hailed “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin is proof.
The lucky man, long-time companion William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson and Aretha Franklin are looking to wed in 2012 on the white sand beaches of Miami. It will be followed by their reception aboard a luxurious yacht. It seems the “Queen of Soul” has everything all mapped out.
“We’re looking at June or July for our date, and no I’m not pregnant, LOL!,” said Franklin.
The nuptials will be Franklin’s third, who has four children. She was married to her then manager, Ted White, during the ’60s and split from her second husband actor Glynn Turman in 1984 after five years together.
Last year Aretha Franklin fought a peculiar sickness causing her to loss 85 pounds. Luckily she was able to coach herself back to health and get back on the road. It seems this year is looking promising for the legendary singer that has given us songs such as “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You),” “Respect,” “Chain of Fools” and countless other hits.
