Legendary Rock and Pop entertainer, Tina Turner’s classic hit single “What’s Love Got To Do With It” will be inducted into the 2012 Grammy Hall of Fame. This will be the diva’s third recording to receive Grammy Hall of Fame honor, the other two being “River Deep – Mountain High (1999)” and “Proud Mary (2003).”

Turner has won eight Grammy awards and is already a Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

In addition to Turner, the 2012 Grammy Hall of Fame will also induct Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech, as well as “Precious Lord, Take My Hand,” by Gospel Queen Mahalia Jackson.

The 54th Grammy awards will be held on February 12, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

This iconic song, written in 1984 and released as a single in 1985, catapulted Turner’s career and is still adored by fans today. The induction of this hit track marks an incredible milestone for both Turner herself and music history.

This beloved classic was co-written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle. It peaked at number one on Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for three weeks, as well as other charts around the world. As we celebrate this momentous occasion of Turner being added to the esteemed ranks of the Grammy Hall Of Fame , let us not forget her spectacular anthem that will live on forever through generations.

Overview Of Grammy Hall Of Fame

The Grammy Hall of Fame is a hallowed list of timeless recordings that have been inducted for their cultural and historical significance. It was established in 1973 as an organization to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry, honoring works from all genres including pop, classical, jazz, and country. Each year, the Recording Academy adds new entries to its esteemed catalogue with criteria chosen by members of the academy. This year, Tina Turner’s hit single “What’s Love Got To Do With It” has become part of this exclusive club.

Since its release in 1984, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” has remained one of the most beloved songs worldwide. Its success catapulted Turner into international stardom as she turned her life around after years of domestic abuse from former husband Ike Turner who had also served as her musical partner throughout much of her career prior to “What’s Love”.

This classic song stands out amongst many other hits due to its powerful message about female empowerment which resonates strongly even today, making it a perfect addition to the Grammy Hall Of Fame. From crooning on American Bandstand over five decades ago to being honored with induction into such a prestigious institution, Turner’s extraordinary journey proves how far talent can take you when given the right platform or opportunity.
