American Idol winner Ruben Studdard and Golden Brooks of “Girlfriends” is set to star in Alvin Moore Jr.’s new straight to DVD stage play “The Perfect Gift.” Available November 1st, Studdard stars as Michael with his wife Sandra (Golden) in a story about family, honesty and generosity.
The synopsis reads: When Sandra’s (Golden) parents stop by for an unannounced visit, holiday stress immediately turns into family anarchy! During this time of department stores, card sending and gift wrapping, Michael (Ruben) must learn that the gift of love and understanding â which he alone can give â is the greatest one of all.
Studdard has worked as an actor in several roles, including appearances on the television series 8 Simple Rules, Life on a Stick, All of Us, One on One, and Eve, as well as the films Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and Natural Born Komics.
Earlier this year, Studdard inked a recording contract with independent record label Shanachie Records. He is working on his fifth studio album; no release date has been scheduled for the album.
