The widow of the late actor/comedian Bernie Mac has filed a wrongful death suit against the doctor who was caring for Mac shortly before he died in 2008. According to papers filed, Rhonda McCullough, Mac’s wife of more than 30 years, alleges his longtime dermatologist, Dr. Rene Earles, failed to diagnose Bernie with pneumonia, and didn’t send him from the clinic to a hospital in a timely fashion. Earles, who treated Mac for lesions developed due to the sarcoidosis, stated in an interview that Mac had an allergic reaction from another doctor during a routine checkup, but he didn’t send him to a hospital until consulting with the doctor. “He didn’t die the next day, he didn’t die in two days,” Earles tells The Chicago Sun-Times. “He died in two weeks and he got over his original strain of pneumonia. He got another strain of pneumonia while he was in the hospital.” “It was entirely devastating,” Earles said. “Look, Bernie was my patient. Bernie was my friend. We became extremely close — we were like brothers.” McCullough wants at least $50,000 in damages in the wrongful death suit.

Bernie Mac was a beloved comedian and actor who had audiences laughing all over the world with his unique brand of humor. He tragically passed away in 2008 due to complications from pneumonia, leaving behind his wife Rhonda McCullough and their daughter Je’Niece Childress. Now eight years later, Mrs. McCullough is still fighting for justice by filing a wrongful death suit against the hospital that treated him at the time of his passing. Readers will learn about this lawsuit and what it means for those closest to Bernie Mac as they read on.

The case has been brought forth by Bernard’s widow, McCollugh, alleging that her husband did not receive proper treatment while he was being cared for at Northwestern Memorial Hospital back in 2008. She claims that if he had received more attentive care he would have survived longer than five days after being admitted to the facility. This suit calls into question whether or not hospitals are providing adequate care as well as how medical malpractice cases are handled—and could potentially set an important precedent going forward.

What makes this story even more compelling is that it’s coming from one of Hollywood’s most influential personalities: The King of Comedy himself, Bernie Mac. Although we may never know what truly happened during his stay at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, this wrongful death suit sheds light on an issue that affects thousands of families across America each year. Read on to discover why McCollugh believes she deserves compensation for her late husband’s untimely death and find out where things stand today in regards to “THE ALTERNATIVE: Bernie Mac’s Widow Still In The Fight, Files Wrongful Death Suit Music”

Bernie Mac’s Legacy

Bernie Mac was a beloved comedian, actor and television star who left behind an incredible legacy. He is remembered fondly by millions of people across the world for his iconic roles on The Bernie Mac Show, Bad Santa and Ocean’s Eleven, as well as his stand-up comedy albums like I Ain’t Scared of You. Unfortunately, in 2008 he passed away due to complications from sarcoidosis.

The loss of Bernie Mac has been felt deeply around the world; even 10 years after his death fans still remember him fondly. His widow Rhonda McCullough has kept his memory alive through her foundation The Bernie Mac Foundation which honors his life’s work and helps those suffering from sarcoidosis. In addition to this charitable work, she also recently filed a wrongful death suit against two medical facilities that had treated him before he died – alleging malpractice in their care.

Rhonda feels it is important to keep fighting for justice and honoring the legacy of her late husband with these legal proceedings. She believes that if any wrongdoing did occur at either facility then they should be held accountable; not just for herself but for anyone else who may have suffered similarly in the future. It takes strength and courage to continue advocating in such difficult circumstances, yet she remains committed to keeping Bernie Mac’s spirit alive through all means possible.

Wrongful Death Suit

In her wrongful death suit, Rhonda is taking on two medical facilities for their alleged lack of proper care. According to the lawsuit, Bernie Mac was admitted to both facilities in 2008 and his condition supposedly worsened due to improper treatment by both staffs. The lawsuit claims that had he received more adequate care from these institutions then maybe he would still be alive today.

Rhonda has stated that she’s not just doing this for herself but also for others who may have been wronged similarly at either facility. She hopes that if any malpractice did occur then it will be brought to light and justice served accordingly. In addition, she wants to make sure her husband’s legacy lives on through this fight; even though he can no longer speak out about the issue himself, she wants to do it for him instead.

The legal proceedings are ongoing but whatever the outcome may be, Rhonda McCullough is making sure her late husband’s memory remains strong and intact – standing up for what she believes in despite difficult circumstances and continuing the work of Bernie Mac Foundation as well so his spirit will never fade away.
