R&B singer Erykah Badu has entered a not guilty plea (April 28) for the charge of disorderly conduct in relation to the shoot of her âWindow Seatâ video, in which she strips down to nothing in downtown Dallas’ Dealey Plaza. The 39-year-old singer, who was charged earlier this month due to an official complaint, was looking to draw controversial dialogue over the racy video. “I expected it to provoke dialogue, and it’s an important statement to make. It’s about freeing oneself of the layers and layers of things that we have learned as Americans in this country,” Badu said in a recent interview. “At the point of becoming naked and individual and free, either you’re assassinated spiritually or mentally by the group or worse. Badu said she picked Dealey Plaza since it was one of the most popular places in the city. Disorderly conduct is punishable by a fine of up to $500.
