Tyler Perry is putting an end to his five year break away from the very plays that launched his career before ‘Madea Goes To Jail’ and ‘Diary of a Mad Black Woman’ next month. In a message posted on his website Saturday, Perry announced plans to not just get back to work after the shocking death of his mother this fall but, to do so with a new stage play titled “Madea’s Big Happy Family” ! According to Perry, the forthcoming play, starring the hilarious pistol-packing grandmother and sometime menacing Madea, will launch January 4 in El Paso, Texas. Making its way through over fifteen cities by May, ‘Madea’s Big Happy Family’ will make stops in Phoenix, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Jacksonville, and Atlanta with additional dates and cities to be announced. In related news, Perry is due to present the anticipated follow up to the Janet Jackson featured ‘Why Did I Get Married’ this Spring. Titled “Why Did I Get Married 2,’ the film features Jackson and Malik Yoba, among others, reprising their characters in a story centered around four married couples.
