Lil Wayne’s anticipated rock-infused album, “Rebirth,” has taken another hit thanks to a shipping error that put 500 copies of the album in the hands of fans weeks before its release. According to Billboard, digital copies of songs from the Grammy winner’s album have surfaced since fans received the album earlier and are now spreading throughout the net on sites like Twitter, Youtube and file sharing websites. Originally due for release December 15, Lil Wayne’s “Rebirth” was later pushed back to a February 1, 2010 release date. However, sources say a number of albums were shipped to retailers before the sudden decision to push the album back. Earlier this week it was reported that Amazon.com issued five hundred copies to fans who had pre-ordered the album when it was due for a December 15 release. Those, perhaps lucky, fans received “Rebirth” on or around December 15. There has been no word as to whether “Rebirth” will be moved up due to the shipping mishap.
