Alicia Keys is set to add animated alien to her impressive resume after signing up to play a green extra-terrestrial in hit children’s series “The Backyardigans.” The R&B star jumped at the chance to get involved in the cartoon series, which features her niece Shakyra Lipscomb, and has also written a new song, “Almost Everything Is Boinga Here,” for the episode in which her likeness appears. “After speaking with kids who said they loved ‘The Backyardigans,’ I knew this would be a great project for me to get involved in,” says Keys, who is busy with her next album. “Working alongside my niece was so much fun and the people at Nick Jr. helped to make it a great experience.”
