The ink is dry and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is officially affiliated with Interscope. Confirming the news Tuesday, Diddy told All Hip Hop, “I was at a point where I felt like I needed a fresh start. I felt like A-Rod going to the Yankees.” While Diddy is enthused over the new deal, which allows him to take his brand, Bad Boy, over to Interscope with a seeming fresh start, his group of talent including Day 26 is left to face the music with Atlantic. Speaking of the deal, which was a surprise to them, Day 26 say they’re optimistic about a future with Atlantic Records. “We cool, whatever works for your career. At the end of the day, as long as our Ts are crossed and our Is are dotted, we happy at Atlantic,” Willie of Day 26 told Rap-Up. “The business of it is still getting taken care of as we speak,” Willie (Will Taylor) goes on to say.. “Weâre just trying to figure it out. Once the paperwork is done, then weâll know. It might be Bad Boy/Atlantic, it might just be Atlantic. Right now, itâs up in the air. We know we not gonna be Bad Boy/Interscope though. Thatâs not even part of the situation.” According to Diddy, WMG allowed him to retain the Bad Boy brand upon his exit leaving room for a new era. Speaking of that era, which marks a complete fresh start with new acts, Diddy says: “We want to find those very unique artists. We want to build something very special thatâs not already out there,” Combs told AllHipHop.com exclusively. One thing is certain… Diddy will release his next album, “Last Train To Paris,” on Interscope.
