The California home where the late King of Pop Michael Jackson resided will remain a private residence after the new owner was unable to obtain authorization to turn the property into a shrine to the star. French designer Christian Audigier recently finalized the purchase of the Holmby Hills home, which Jackson had rented from one of the fashion boss’ associates. After Jackson passed away at the property on June 25 of acute Propofol intoxication, Audigier made arrangements to buy the house, with plans to turn the building into a museum and open it up to the public. According to his spokeswoman Michele Elyzabeth, the Ed Hardy creator was denied by local authorities to make it a public space. Jackson was buried on Thursday night Sept 3. in Glendale, California – 10 weeks after his tragic death. Among the stars who paid their last respects were Elizabeth Taylor, Macaulay Culkin and girlfriend Mila Kunis, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Gladys Knight, Rev. Al Sharpton, Corey Feldman, Kenny Ortega and Michael’s ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley. In related news, Jackson is set to become the highest earning celebrity of 2010, with experts predicting the late star will bring in an estimated $240 million in revenue.
