Hollywood actor Tyrese Gibson has been granted joint custody of his two year old daughter as part of a finalized divorce. The agreement, confirmed by Radar Online Thursday, follows a several month-long battle with -now- ex-wife Norma Mitchell Gibson, who married the entertainer in November of 2007. Gibson, now single and moving forward with forthcoming film-related projects, filed for divorce earlier this year. In addition to gaining shared custody of his daughter, Tyrese will retain ownership of his Temecula, CA home, select automobiles and other assets. He will however, pay Norma Gibson child support in the amount of $6,230 according to court documents obtained by Radar Online. Speaking with Upscale magazine in June, Tyrese spoke candidly about the divorce for the first time since filing papers. “I filed for divorce. Iâm not perfect. Iâve made some major mistakes in the past and she has too,” said Tyrese. Contrary to Tyrese, Norma Mitchell Gibson at one point claimed the entertainer was full of excuses: “Persons in the entertainment industry always seem to have a fascinating ability to characterize their life choices as somehow different, more important and not a matter of choice, but a requirement, entitling them to special rules and considerations.” Nonetheless, Tyrese told Upscale that his focus will remain on their daughter. “Thereâs a lot of people in your life that you do not necessarily get along with or are not on the same page with, and youâre still in their life. So do what you have to do so that you can do what you want to do, which is spend time with your child.” The couple was married for just ten months before separating in October of 2008.
