R. Kelly enlisted the help of Keri Hilson at the recent video shoot for their rising hit single “Number One”. Directed by Chris Robinson, R. Kelly, captured in video below, says “we’re calling the whole situation ‘R-keri’.” While the video is Kelly’s first to be shot in relation to an album since “Double Up(2007)” and in some ways was expected to feature Kelly in a sort of “comeback” mode, the man known as ‘The Pied Piper of R&B” and “R in R&B” is instead sharing the spotlight with the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. In one scene (watch below), Kelly dons a custom made jacket that he says pays tribute to Jackson. “Paying tribute to Michael Jackson… it’s all love,” says Kelly. Backing the singer/songwriter up, Keri Hilson says the MJ tribute scene is “because he’s no.1 and that’s what its all about.” “Number One” is also Kelly’s first official video/single to hit television since the singer was acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008. The video for “Number One” premieres Tuesday on Yahoo! Music.
