Fresh off a significant deal with Slip N Slide Records, R&B group Jagged Edge is eying studio time with Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg and Plies ! The former Def Jam/Soul singers, known widely for hits like “Promise” and “Let’s Get Married,” say the aforementioned trio are amongst a number of features they are considering for their Slip N Slide debut. “Topic wise we are all over on this one – some sound more youthful, some more suggestive and some sound real classic, like the big ballads. If you look in the past, the ratio of power ballads was grossly outnumbered, but this album will be more balanced,” Jagged Edge shared with Billboard recently. As previously reported on Singersroom, Jagged Edge signed a deal with Slip N Slide’s Ted Lucas, that not only cleared them of Columbia related contractual obligations but also solidified their label FIVE 81 Records. After the release of this album, tentatively titled “The Remedy,” Jagged Edge hopes to unveil FIVE 81 Records with R&B/Pop singers Jarvis and Chelsea. “The Remedy” follows JE’s 2007 effort “Baby Makin’ Project,” featuring the single “Put A Little Umph In It”. Jagged Edge burst onto the scene with 1997s “A Jagged Era”. The album, featuring production from Jermaine Dupri, scored two charting singles titled “Gotta Be” and “The Way You Talk”.
