BET has joined forces with Interscope/A&M Records to debut its newest reality show, KEYSHIA COLE: THE WAY IT IS. The six-part series chronicles Keyshia?s trials and tribulations, while showcasing her promising future as one of R&B′s true success stories. Starting in Keyshia′s hometown, fans will discover how the singer escaped the pressures of the inner city, and later returned to sell out venues and headline her own cross-country tour. Scheduled to premiere on BET on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 9:00 pm (ET/PT), the show presents intimate details of the star′s upbringing and how her struggles were the inspiration behind her music and new found status.
In this truthful look into Keyshia Cole?s life, real things pour from the singer as she shares her mother′s battles with drug addiction and the childhood spent in and out of foster care. The first episode, set in Oakland, focuses on her return back home since beginning her tour. As Keyshia reflects on this turbulent time, she must deal with the events that ripped her family apart, while tending to her own personal struggles. Viewers will be engulfed as the Keyshia engages in touching reunions, dramatic interviews and her no nonsense business attitude as she strengthen her standing in the entertainment industry and forms her own music label.

Keyshia Cole has a strong internal compass leading her to do the right thing because of her past. Her mother and one of her sister’s on the show must remember that poor selection of men for their life partners landed them in their current situation. Continuing to up lift those around us without enabling them to do wrong is one of life’s challenges. Keyshia you are heavy weight among vocalist, find your next business challenge, stay on the grind.

Hey Keyshia, i just want you know that you are growing as a person,your not the same girl when you first came and the change is good and your also growing as an artist. i just want u to know that im learning alot about life, trails and tribulations from watching you and your family and listening to your music, u are a good look for young girls who come from the hood and not having much and struggling just to get by.
