BeBe Winans joins T.D. Jakes as one of five 2009 International Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductees. Winans, known best for inspirational songs both with his sister CeCe and as a solo artist, will be honored at a special October 31 induction ceremony in Detroit. According to organizers, the event will be held at the Max M. Fisher Music Center. In related news, congratulations are in order for James Fortune & FIYA, winners of an ASCAP Award for the Gospel Singles chart-topping track “I Trust You”. Fortune and FIYA were honored at the 22nd Annual American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Awards (ASCAP) at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton June 26. “I Trust You,” written by Fortune and Terence Vaugn, won Top Gospel Song.
