R&B singer Jill Scott’s company J Heather Inc. has reportedly entered into an exclusive joint venture deal with Ashley Stewart Stores to introduce a new line of intimate apparel for the plus-size woman, titled. The new clothing line, The Butterfly Collection by Jill Scott, will be personally inspired and designed by Scott, in conjunction with Ashley Stewart whose name and image will be utilized in all marketing and merchandising concepts. Scott’s Blues Babe Foundation will benefit from the association with Ashley Stewart Stores Community Foundation. This has already begun with the launch of the Cecil B. Moore recreation center in Ms. Scott’s hometown of North Philadelphia. In other news, Scott was expected to make her big screen leading role as âThe No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’, but reports say that might now happen, as the flick will now head to BBC television sometime in April. Based on the best-selling novel series by Alexander McCall Smith, “Detective Agency” chronicles the adventures of Precious Ramotswe, the proprietor of the only female-owned detective agency in Botswana. Singer Jill Scott will take the lead role of Precious Ramotswe in the Botswana-based version of Alexander McCall Smith’s best-selling novel, which will be directed and written by Anthony Minghella and co-written by Richard Curtis.
