The first wife of late music icon Prince, Mayte Garcia, is planning a memoir of “intimate” proportions about her marriage with the musician.
Yesterday (Sept 13), Hachette Books revealed to The Associated Press that Garcia’s book, titled “The Most Beautiful,” is scheduled for release in April 2017.
The book will document Garcia and Prince’s struggle with trying to conceive a child. The former couple were married in 1996 and lost two babies; one shortly after his birth and another form miscarriage. The loss of their children caused a strain on their marriage and they divorced in 2000.
Garcia says in a statement, “For many years, people have encouraged me to share my story.” She continued, “The memoir will feature both “the highs and lows – always coming from a loving place, as this man is still a part of my family and always will be.”
