Twenty-one-year-old Estelle Lavaud (simply known as ‘Lavaud’) drops her debut single and video “Deep” as the first look for Lavaud in the U.S.
The clip is full of summer gorgeousness as Lavaud and the supporting cast luxuriates by cool, pools of water wearing white bathing suits and gold, glittered-up bodies.
About the single, Lavaud says, “‘Deep’ is a song about no restrictions. Living and loving to the fullest, we only have one life, one chance, so no holding back, give it your all and fall deep.”
From Hackney, London, Lavaud’s family heritage comes from the island nation of Mauritius, a diverse background she credits much of her early musical development too. Lavaud has been identified as ‘One to Watch 2016’ by the UK MOBO’s unsigned committee.
“I grew up surrounded by music of all genres. My father is my biggest influence, he is an amazing musician, and I was exposed to so much learning from him,” she explains. “I listened to Sega, a traditional Mauritian sound, also influenced by greats like Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Bob Marley and Beyonce.”
