Originally hailing from DC, Nashville singer-songwriter Vann details a freaky encounter in the “Backseat, a slow jam he originally had in mind for Chris Brown. However after some persuasion, Vann decided to keep the song for himself.
He uses an interpolation of 2 Live Crew’s “Head Down, Ass Up,” so the raunch-factor it high. “Backseat, windows up, that the way that we like to f*ck,” he states.
Vann tells HNHH: “I connected with the producer Flash online back in November. He gave me a folder of beats to go through, and I immediately took a liking to the track. It had that late 90’s R&B meets dirty south type vibe to it. I actually wrote the song for Chris Brown, but I never heard back from his team. I played it for a couple of my industry peers, and everybody was like that’s the one, you need to drop that asap.” And the rest, they say, is history.
