It’s April 1st, and no, it’s not an April Fool’s prank; Jhene Aiko and Big Sean’s duet EP Twenty88 is here.
The project is centered around Sean and Aiko’s musical chemistry, and them wanting to bring back the classic male-female duet (with a modern twist, of course) with the focus on the ups and downs of a relationship. In 8 tracks, the duo dabbles in 90’s R&B (like with beloved 90s crooners K-Ci & JoJo on “2 Minute Warning”) and 70s soul (like on “Talk Show”).
About the sound of the album, Big Sean told Flaunt Magazine: “It gets turned up, then it gets melodic, and then it gets vibed out. It touches all these things, but it sounds very cohesive.”
Production from Key Wane and Tommy Brown can be found on the set.
The EP is available for streaming on Tidal for four days (below). Purchase on iTunes HERE.
