Beyonce joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars for the halftime show during Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California tonight (Feb. 7), and all three acts lit the stage on fire!
The band Coldplay opened the show with “Viva la Vida”; members Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion rocked out to some of their biggest hits including “Adventure of a Lifetime” and “Paradise.” Then it was Bruno Mars’s appearance; dressed in all black and gold chains, Bruno unleashed a little “Uptown Funk” mixed with classic MC Hammer moves…killer mash up!
And if that wasn’t enough, Beyonce entered onto the field to perform her surprise single “Formation” with her crew of Black Panther-dressed background dancers, looking fierce and keeping the theme of “pro-black trap.”
Beyonce and Bruno then dance towards each other in a dance battle and Coldplay joins them for a collab for an energetic performance of “Uptown Funk.” In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl, the performance also included a montage of clips of classic past Super Bowl performances, including Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, James Brown, Katy Perry, etc. The show ends with all three coming together to sing Coldplay’s “Up & Up” for an epic message of love.
But it doesn’t end there!
As soon as the show ended, it was announced that Beyonce will soon be trekking on “Formation Tour” in summer 2016! According to Billboard, the tour consists of 40 dates and will kick off on April 27 in the U.S., Europe, and Canada. More deets to follow in coming days.
