Much like the heart-wrenching soul executed on Syleena Johnson’s previous single “Perfectly Worthless,” she brings back vintage vibes on “My Love,” the second single from her forthcoming, October 7 album Chapter 6: Couples Therapy.
On the track, the “R&B Divas” cast member croons about having mature love that can stand the everyday hiccups of life and personality flaws: “Truth is sometimes you get on my nerves, when you act like you know it all… / I have more than enough reasons to say goodbye now, if I hada left you by now / Just know my love don’t quit when the road gets rough,” she sings on the first verse and chorus.
“My Love” is the first song Syleena released with as signee of Blakbyrd Entertainment/eOne. “It was important for me to choose a label that showed genuine passion and interest in me and my brand and the easy part is having a great parent company that believes in my project,” she says.
Chapter 6: Couples Therapy drops on October 28, and will feature contributions from long time collaborators R.Kelly and DJ Wayne Williams. Purchase "My Love" above!
