Chris Brown has plead not guilty to charges that he assaulted a man in Washington D.C. over the weekend.
After having the assault charge reduced to a misdemeanor Brown was released without bail Monday, but ordered to report to his probation officer within 48 hours and to stay at least 100 yards away from the man he is accused of assaulting during a fight early Sunday morning.
According to Brown's newly appointed attorney, Danny Onorato, the "Fine China" singer committed no crime.
"Christopher Brown committed no crime," Onorato told press shortly after the hearing. "We understand that his security acted to protect Mr. Brown and his property, as he is authorized to do under District of Columbia law. We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing."
Brown and his bodyguard spent roughly 36 hours behind bars at the Washington Jail before being released. Both men are expected to return to court November 24.
