Last Thursday, the Singersroom sponsored LoveJonesNYC paid tribute to R&B/Soul singer Chrisette Michele as well as celebrated the release of her new mixtape Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation. Throughout the night, various chosen talents covered Michele’s top hits, but during one performance she had to join in.
During a duet of her single “Love Is You,” Chrisette, who wasn’t supposed to to perform, jumped in on the fun, insisting the rendition was amazing, and she couldn’t help her self. The trio, skat, beatbox and sang unrehearsed, blowing the crowd away with their delightful collaboration.
LoveJonesNYC is a cultural explosion that brings together dynamic elements of music, dance, spoken-word, fashion, and live art under one roof, on one night. The now famous New York City nightspot WIP – a staple among industry insiders – is home to this one-of-a-kind celebration.
