Adele Goes Diamond in US with '21'
As if racking up award after award for her crazy successful album “21” wasn’t enough, Adele has now officially joined the diamond club; this week, “21” has sold over 10 million copies in the US alone, reaching a total 10,020,000 units sold. Nielsen Soundscan reports that “21” hit the diamond mark in 92 weeks, or just under two years.

The British soul singer’s album “21” eerily becomes the 21st record to pass the 10 million mark, and the third album (2+1=3) in 2012 to hit those numbers (how meant-to-be is that!?). Usher’s “Confessions” and Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory” are the other two this year to go diamond.

According to Billboard, “21” joins the small club of only 8 albums to go diamond within two years:
NSYNC's "No Strings Attached" (43 weeks), Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" (66 weeks), "The Bodyguard" soundtrack (72 weeks), Creed's "Human Clay" (93 weeks), Santana's "Supernatural" (60 weeks), Shania Twain's "Come on Over" (96 weeks), and Backstreet Boys' "Millennium" (39 weeks).

Congrats, Adele!
