If there is any doubt that Chris Brown is and has been one of the most successful artists of his generation then his No. 1 should quiet some haters. The “Don’t Wake Me Up” hitmaker’s fifth studio album FORTUNE, which was released last week, sits undisputed at No. 1 on the international charts including the U.S., UK and Netherlands. RCA Records released the FORTUNE album which has taken over the charts by claiming the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums and R&B Albums charts.
Brown has also extended his reach by capturing the new countries of Netherlands (No. 1 Top Albums Chart) and UK. The Grammy winning singer-songwriter has also topped charts in Ireland and France at No. 4, Japan at No. 5, Canada at No. 6, Switzerland at No. 10 and Germany at No. 13. Not to mention taking the No. 1 album on the iTunes Albums charts in the US, UK, Australia, Japan and New Zealand.
Chris Brown also has hijacked the No. 1 R&B/Soul albums in 22 countries which include the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia.
Brown’s success can be attributed to his hard work and God given abilities. He is a singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, graffiti artists amongst other things. The young man is entertaining, humorous and captivating. It is his X factor that he has total control of that pulls his legends of fans in for more every time. Since Chris Brown’s reign began in 2005, the Virginia native has delivered successful multi-platinum releases on Chris Brown (2005), Exclusive (2007), Graffiti (2009) and F.A.M.E. (2011). However, FORTUNE has helped him garner total album sales of over 8 million to date and total worldwide song sales of nearly 30 millions. This year, Chris added “BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist” and “Billboard Music Award for Top R&B Artist” which helped him to reach a total of 42 awards.
