Throwing off some fierce attitude, this all XX three piece hit the ground running. Wiry blank wave guitars pin down primal drum thud, aggressive howls, and velvety croons. They don’t hide their politics (they do have a feminist manifesto) though I would be remiss if I did not inform you they’ve got a heart flowing with 110% molten ROCK.
Whore Paint’s LP is a self-assured classic evoking past warriors such as the Wipers, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, and the Jesus Lizard. That said, it launches on its own fumes into its own orbit of awesome with songs evoking limbless triumph.
In existence since 2009, the band has pedigree in outfits such as Made in Mexico, Arcing, and Teenage Waistband. The band has done lots of East Coast touring, and a West Coast jaunt in 2013. They will be touring surrounding the release of this very record.
Definitely a must have for fans of brave and total life experiences that may take place inside a sweat lodge, atop a mountain peak, or in a sweaty rock hole. Whore Paint brings the truth with rock fury, you have been waiting for this.
