She is dubbed Queen B for a reason! International music superstar Beyoncé is the talk of the town after word dropped that her ‘Formation World Tour’ earned a whopping $256 million ($256,084,556) after selling over 2.2 million tickets.
The trek, which kicked off on April 27th in Miami, FL and wrapped on October 7th in East Rutherford, NJ, averaged $5.2 million in ticket sales and 45,757 paid attendees per concert.
The tour’s highest grossing stop belongs to London’s Wembley Stadium, where on July 2-3, Queen Bey brought in $15.3 million with 142,5000 tickets sold. Prior to that, New York’s Citi Field raked in $11.5 million with 73,486 tickets sold in two sold-out shows. It was the highest-grossing stop in North America.
Arthur Fogel, chairman of Live Nation’s Global Touring division, is not surprised by Bey’s results.
“When everybody acknowledges the greatness of the production but, more than that, everybody is blown away by her, that’s the ultimate skill,” he said. “To not only use the platform of a great production, but to rise above it as a performer and artist, that’s her incredibly unique quality.”
Beyonce doesn’t just make a lot of money; she also uses it to help others. Word is, she and husband Jay-Z donated $15 million to Haiti following the devastation of Hurricane Mathew.
Congrats to Beyonce!
