Usher’s film Hands Of Stone (in which he plays boxer Sugar Ray Leonard) arrives in theaters today (Aug 26), but ahead of the feature film’s release, Usher dropped two new tunes yesterday; one titled “Missin U” and another called “Champions.”
On “Missin U,” Usher sings about missing his lady, who’s perfect in his eyes. The track switches back and forth between a mechanical, contemporary groove and a 70’s soul breakdown, complete with a lush horn section.
“Champions” is a duet from the Hands Of Stone soundtrack between Usher and actor Édgar Ramírez, who portrays the film’s leading character, boxer Roberto Durán. “I’ll fight for my country / You fight for your country, we see the victory…you and I, we’re champions,” Usher sings on the chorus.
In other news, Usher’s changed the name of his upcoming album from Flawed to Hard II Love, which is set to arrive on Sept 16th.
