It’s been a few years since his last album All My Love, but now Robert Gee is back with a new smooth tune called “All I Ever Wanted” from his sophomore project, Robert Gee – The EP.
The song is produced and co-written by Grant Nicholas (Ne-Yo, Ledisi, Yolanda Adams, Musiq Soulchild, Angie Stone), and features soft chords and loving lyrics. On the song, he reflects on a love relationship but comes to the realization that it’s not ever going to work.
Gee shares, “Being from Philly, my approach is always a soulful one – but what I love most of all about this song is that it is fresh and current while still tapping into the richness of my roots.”
Gee was discovered as a teen by Patti LaBelle during her run in “Your Arms Too Short To Box With God” in 1982. He’s won the coveted Amateur Night at the Apollo and has sung with a who’s who of R&B and Gospel music stars including Vesta Williams, Luther Vandross, The Emotions, Teena Marie, BeBe Winans, Daryl Coley, LaShun Pace, and most recently, Loose Ends featuring Jane Eugene, Kashif, and Tevin Campbell.
