Dria Thornton (one half of the production duo/couple The Frontrunnaz with Chris Thornton) drop off one of her contributions to their Ready, Set, Go! mixtape, “Silly Girls.”
The song has Dria calling out the pettiness often perpetuated in women’s circles; a.k.a the cattiness, mean-spiritedness, shallow attributes, and how it must get better.
“We’re some silly girls, in our silly world, made of plastic, hair fanatics,” she sings on the chorus, sung as an interpolation of Aqua’s 1997 hit “Barbie Girl.” “We all got insecurities….We don’t have to act like that,” she continues.
Dria was recently featured on Ray J “ATM” ft. The Migos and she also opened on Monica’s "Code Red" Tour at the House of Blues in Dallas.
