Even though he has musical genes (his mother being the legendary Diana Ross), Evan Ross is more known for his acting than music (he’s appeared in the VH1 film CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, 2006's ATL, the CW series 90210, and the third Hunger Games movie).
But that’s all about to change; he’s released a new tune ft. T.I. called “How To Live Alone.” Like Evan’s distinctly raspy speaking voice, his singing voice carries a smokey quality into his music as well.
Music has always been in him, as he’s been actively working on music behind the scenes since 2004. “It took a minute, but I’m glad I waited,” Ross told Billboard. “I could have probably rushed an album out years ago, but it wouldn’t have been good. I’m in a place now where there are things that I want to share, and this album is really about the joy of being in love."
Obviously Ross, who married Ashlee Simpson last year, is in the love state of mind. [“How To Live Alone”] is about the idea that if you couldn't be with the one you love, you would learn how to live alone, because you could never love another,” he continued.
