After months of separation, Nick Cannon has officially filed for divorce from his estranged wife Mariah Carey.
The couple, who was married for 6 years, split in August, but it didn't become official until last month, when Cannon filed officially on Dec. 12. The filing occured one week after Mariah made headlines with her strained performance at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting on the Dec. 3, to which she arrived late after a meeting with her lawyers regarding her property settlement.
The pair have a prenup in place, and it was reported last October (2014) the couple were fighting over custody of their eight dogs, which were not included in the marital agreement.
Meanwhile, Mariah announced this week she’s inked an enormous, lucrative deal to perform her first Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace…welp, guess Nick won't gets any of that coinage!
