A new Fantasia album will be arriving soon.
The former American Idol winner is hard at work on her fifth studio effort, the follow-up to her critically-favored 2013 LP, Side Effects of You.
Including fans on the progress, Tasia recently took to Instagram to share a short clip of her and R&B veteran R. Kelly in the studio working on new music.
“Still Going… Rock Soul LIVES…. This Man Is Teaching Me So Much About Music?? what a Freaking Gift… My Big Bro for LIFE… R Kelly is Music #thatyoucant #takeaway,” she says of her time with the genre’s Pied Piper.
Fantasia previously spoke about the upcoming opus with Billboard:
"This whole rock soul direction has been on my heart. I'll always be soulful: I started singing in the church at the age of five. So that will never go anywhere. But there's a certain side of me that wants to tap into that whole rock world. It's hard to come from R&B to that. But it's something I believe in and will fight for. This will be my fifth album and 10 years in the game for me. Musically I've grown, and in my life I've grown. I want all of that reflected in my music for this album.”
In addition to her next album, Fantasia is working on a clothing line and mentoring a young girl group.
