A pre-VMA party, hosted by R&B singer Chris Brown, ended in chaos after shots rang out in the venue leaving three people shot and one in critical condition.
The shooting took place around 1:30 AM Sunday at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood, CA. Death Row Records founder Suge Knight, 49, was shot twice (stomach and arm); all the victims were taken to the city's Cedars Sinai hospital.
Chris Brown was unhurt during the hysteria, but witnesses claim the Grammy winner may have been the target of the shooting.
"Gunshots so close we smelled gunpowder, felt the heat & my friend had blood on her face. Chris Brown VMA party. Hug your loved ones. #1OAKLA," says one victim.
Another adds, "Literally can't believe what I just witnessed. Someone tried to fire shots at Chris Brown at 1oak. Speechless."
Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri'chard and Apple de Ap all tell TMZ … they were inside the pre-VMA party when they heard 4 shots ring out inside the club. The gossip site also reports that there was an incident an hour-and-a-half before the shots:
Game came to the club and he and his buddies got into an altercation with security guards … there was a full-on fight. Game tried to get in was denied and left, but his buddies stayed behind. We do not know if they were involved in the altercation.
