Trey Songz has another reason to celebrate!
The R&B crooner’s sixth studio album, Trigga, led by the hit single “Na Na,” has secured the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 105,000 copies in its first week.
This feat serves as Songz’s second chart topper — his 2012 release, Chapter V, also landed at number one with 135,000 units sold in its first week.
Last week’s topper, Ed Sheeran, slipped into the runner-up position with 53,000 while rising sensation Sam Smith secures the third spot with 45,000.
On a not so happy note, it seems Robin Thicke’s personal life is affecting his music sales. The crooner’s new album, Paula, which serves as a cry to get estranged wife Paula Patton back, debuted at No. 9 with a mere 24,000 copies sold. The good news is it’s not his lowest sales week ever; in 2007, "The Evolution of Robin Thicke" launched with 20,000.
