Keyshia Cole’s Estranged Husband Daniel Gibson Speaks To ‘Rolling Out’ on Cheating Rumors

It’s no secret the marriage between Keyshia Cole and former NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson is hanging on the edge, but WHY? Rumors of Gibson’s infidelity is to blame for the split (not to mention Keyshia’s latest songs “Rick James,” “[Next Time] Won’t Give My Heart Away” have basically lyrically documented cheater-inflicted heartbreak). However, according to Gibson in an interview with Rolling Out, he claims they simply grew apart; he takes responsibility, but somewhat alludes the cheating question.

“With us, I think it was just a matter of us growing apart over time. I can’t say that there was one thing that broke us up, but what I can say as a man; when you are in a relationship, and you say those vows, I take full responsibility for everything that didn’t go right,” he explains.

He continues, “I won’t say that I didn’t cheat, but I will say that I cheated my wife out of a friend in a lot of situations where I was supposed to hold her down and I didn’t. I cheated my wife out of a lot of different things….So I‘m sitting here telling you that regardless of what she did, I married her. I loved her. And none of that other stuff should have happened. We’re supposed to still be together doing it right.”

Pictures of Gibson with a wad of cash and a stripper lead to speculation that he cheated with the woman in the pic, but when asked if he cheated with that woman, Gibson says the marriage was already unstable before it even got to that point. “But what I’ve been trying to figure out when I hear people gossiping and talking is, since when do two pictures constitute a relationship? It only happens that way when the media tries to paint a picture that this is what happened to our relationship…But that didn’t really have anything to do with us being separated, because when you think about it, we were actually already separated before all of that came out.”

He even alludes to the fact that their BET reality show “Keyshia & Daniel: Family First” added to the public scrutiny and added unwelcome pressure: “I really didn’t want to agree to us doing the show at the beginning. Because I really felt like, when you open up that door, you allow people to be able to hate, or form whatever assumptions they want to about you because you’re putting your life out there."

Whatever the reason, we hope each party can civilly move on for the sake of ther son Daniel Gibson Jr.
