Legendary entertainer Dionne Warwick teams up with contemporary hit-maker Ne-Yo for a remake of her 1964 song “A House Is Not A Home,” the smooth ballad from the film of the same name.
"It was such a pleasant surprise to hear Ne-Yo’s full bodied voice and the sensitive approach he gave to ‘A House Is Not A Home.’ Being in the studio with him was an absolute pleasure and I hope we can do it again," she told Billboard.
This version will appear on her new album Feels So Good arriving on July 1, a 14-track set that’ll feature four new duets and appearances by Ziggy Marley, Ruben Studdard, Cee Lo Green, Jamie Foxx, Cyndi Lauper, Mya, Jamie Foxx, Gladys Knight, and Warwick’s son David Elliott and grandaughter Cheyenne Elliott.
Ne-Yo's bright, strong vocals carry the tune, but Warwick's vocals seem to struggle to translate emotion. Does Ne-Yo outshine the legend? What do you think of this remake?
