British Pop/R&B star Rita Ora is a sensation across the pond, but to integrate her brand into the American psyche, the starlet recently say down with hosts Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy of 105.1, who aren’t afraid to dig in the with juicy questions.
The hosts asked her about the Rihanna comparisons, her thoughts on the Mimi Foust sextape, and (*gasp!*) if she slept with Jay Z to be put on Roc Nation (which she is no longer a member of).
Ora cleared up all the rumors, saying she’s flattered to be compared to Rihanna, and as for the Jay Z rumors, Ora shot those down vehemently: "Don’t you dare disrespect Beyoncé like that ever again in your entire life. You should know better than that. That’s just straight up disrespect. You can’t even go there. That’s like not even a question."
And when asked why she thinks her music hasn’t made waves here in the U.S. like it has overseas, she said, “ I think I haven’t spent enough time here…I just released one single and I think it got the buzz and people bubbling about me…I didn’t do any TV shows or radio shows, I just wanted to focus on the markets I knew that worked, and this time, I just wanted to tour the states. I love your culture and I love your food, and I love how you dress…I think people had the product but they didn’t have the person,” she explained.
So my fellow Americans, in order to get to know Rita Ora the person, check out her reveling sit-down with The Breakfast Club crew:
