The clip is centered around a beauty pageant and all the pressure, judgment, and general unhappiness in their quest for perfection and beauty, masked behind painted on faces and smiles, even highlighting eating disorders. The 7-minute clip ends with young Bey winning a pageant in her hometown of Houston.
