Pharrell Williams and John Legend singles are not only performing well on the R&B charts, they are also soaring on the Pop Songs tally.
According to Billboard, Pharrell Williams' hit single "Happy" will earn its first week at no.1 on the Pop Songs chart this week. Based on strong sales and a rise in airplay, the single will claim the summit when the chart is refreshed Thursday.
"Happy" continues to be aptly titled for Pharrell Williams, as the song takes over a bevy of Billboard airplay charts. It crowns Pop Songs, Rhythmic Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, while claiming Greatest Gainer honors on Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Songs. (It also debuts, at No. 34, on the DJ-based Dance Club Songs survey.)," reports Billboard. "Happy" has ruled the airplay/sales/streaming-based Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, while parent album "G I R L" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last week."
In related news, John Legend's moving single, "All of Me," continues to rise. It has become this week's greatest gainer, lifting to no.6.
