Randy Jackson is proud of "American Idol" and the current line up of judges.
Appearing on "Ellen" Wednesday, the former judge discussed his new role as a mentor of sorts to contestants and the chemistry of the judging panel.
Speaking highly of Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr, Jackson said Lopez is present vocally and knows what it takes. He also claimed that Connick may come off mean at times, but it's because he wants the best for the top 13.
"Jennifer is unbelievably present. She gets what's going on in the performance way and the vocal way," said Jackson. "I love the judges and I love the crop of kids."
