Teyana Taylor was official dropped from Adidas following her controversial online feud with peer Rihanna.
The G.O.O.D. music singer-songwriter’s partnership with the sportswear giant was in good standing before the split. Her first collaboration with the brand was a sales success, but after a sold-out debut, the company halted plans for a follow-up release due to pressure from Rihanna fans.
A rep for Adidas tells website MadameNoir: “We have ended our relationship with Teyana Taylor and do not have any upcoming product launches with her… Adidas partners with athletes and artists who blend well with our brand values. We evaluate our relationships with partners based on the values we hold at Adidas and we don't condone violence of any kind.”
Teyana and Rihanna’s beef went public after Rihanna uploaded a video on her Instagram profile mocking her. Teyana fired back with several stern verbal tweets before labeling Rihanna a “cyber bully.”
Rihanna later responded, “I refuse to help your career… Not til you pay me. No more free promo. I refuse.” After both women deleted their tweets, Teyana replaced her Twitter avatar with an image of a battered Rihanna, which was taken after her domestic abuse assault by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
The image sent Rihanna fans into a frenzy, and a petition was launched to end her endorsement deal with Adidas.
We’re guessing the petition worked!
