Chris Brown Gets Permission to Miss DC Assault Hearing, Mom Breezy Speaks Out

A judge granted Chris Brown permission to not attend his upcoming hearing on Monday (Nov. 25) in Washington DC. In his attorney’s petition, the 24-year-old requested to be absent so he can remain in a California rehabilitation facility for anger management issues.

“It wouldn’t be counter-productive to have Mr. Brown check-out of an inpatient treatment program and travel across the country to attend a status hearing that will likely result in a continuance," his attorney filed.

As previously reported, Brown was ordered to do another 90 days of rehab after he had a violent explosion and reportedly threw a brick through his mother's car window after she pleaded for him to extend his stay in rehab.

Brown checked back into rehab on Wednesday (Nov. 20), and will now have to wait for the outcome of his DC case to see whether he will receive jail time or not. He was charged with misdemeanor assault for an incident last month (Oct 2013) outside the W Hotel for allegedly punching a man who tried to jump into a photo with the singer.

We’re hoping the next 90 days give Brown a new insight on life.

In related news, Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, known to his millions of fans as Mom Breezy, broke her silence on Twitter recently, calling her son an “angel with broken wings.”

Joyce tweeted: “MY ANGEL WITH BROKEN WINGS GOD LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND I DO AS WELL.”
