Is Bruno Mars next in line to play the anticipated and coveted Super Bowl halftime show?
According to recent and trusted reports, the "If I Was Your Man" and "Grenade" singer has been tapped to follow acts like Beyonce, Madonna and The Black Eyed Peas in taking the stage during one of television's most watched annual events.
"Grammy-winner Bruno Mars will sing at halftime of the Super Bowl in February, a person familiar with the NFL's entertainment plans told The Associated Press on Saturday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no announcement had been made. The official word is expected to come at an event in New York's Times Square on Sunday," the AP reported Saturday.
Mars will have five months to prepare for the major gig, which will take place at MetLife Stadium on February 2, 2014 (in New Jersey).
It's unclear if any acts will join Mars, whose single, "If I Was Your Man" is among this year's top selling singles, moving over 3.8 million copies. His latest album, "Unorthodox Jukebox" is also successful, selling over 1.1 million copies since its release.
