Justice was a girl that we all fell in love with. Most of us can identify with her snarky, cool, emotional, independent personality. We can also identify with her struggle. But through all of that, we have come to admire one particular aspect of Justice and that of course was her hair. Those thick brown braids have become the trade make for that 1993 release. Now, 20 years later “Poetic Justice” braids are making a comeback. Check some of our favorite starlets paying homage to Justice.
When are you getting your braids???
King Bey has taken notes from her little sis, Solange, and decided on braiding up her mane. Bey doesn’t wear them as often as Solange does, but when she does, she makes it look effortless. She seems to mainly wear them on vacation (and who can blame her). Whether she is walking the streets of New York, or laying in the sun on a tropical island, she always keeps it up in the classic bun and remains true to her dirty blonde look.
Christina Milian is another classic beauty that can make anything look good. In the earlier part of the year, we’ve seen Christina rocking her “poetic justice” out and around LA. Its a different look for her, but a great one at that.
Miss Solo has become the new face of these iconic “poetic justice” braids. In true “Knowles” fashion, she changed the game and made her dramatically long “knee length” braids her staple. Stylish, as usual, Solange isn’t afraid to “live” her braid up; whether in a bun, ponytails, or even add a scarf. Watch out Janet, Solange might be coming for your braided crown!
During the 1990’s Brandy was the face of the classic braids. From concerts, to videos, to movies, to shows, Brandy kept her hair in nothing but braids. As she started to evolve musically and personally she started to stray away from her braids and started to experiment more with other styles. Today, the newly engaged singer every so often rocks her “poetic justice”, reminding us that she can still rock her braids.
It’s hard for Angela to wear something and it not look stunning; her braids are no exception. Angela had always stayed true to her long straight tresses, but the early part of the summer, Angela decided to show us that she can work braids too; and she did them justice (pun intended).
