What is going on in the world of Beyonce, especially over at her label, Columbia Records? If a recent report is true, it looks like fans will have to wait until next year (yes, 2014!) for a new album from King Bey.
Barring songs like "Grown Woman" and "Standing On The Sun" (plus the snippets "I Been On" and "Bow Down") Beyonce has been quiet when it comes to new music, particularly an "official" single. Why? According to a report published in the August 2 issue of The Hollywood Reporter, a decision has been made to scrap at least fifty songs that Beyonce had recorded for her fifth studio album.
Among the 50 songs allegedly cut are contributions from Ne-Yo, who notably spoke out about Beyonce's album earlier this year, claiming she and her team were still trying to figure out what they want.
"I'm still putting stuff together for Beyonce's album. They're still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I'm not mad at," Ne-Yo told Billboard in June. "Beyonce's the kind of artist where you're not gonna see it till it's right. And her fans — they love her so they'll be patient."
As rumored, and in some cases confirmed, Beyonce had pulled in contributions from The Dream, Sia, Ne-Yo, Diane Warren and Diplo for the album, which was originally due in the Spring — then Spring became Fall.
According to trusted sources, a Fall release doesn't look likely because Beyonce could still be recording in the Fall, which is a big blow to Columbia Records and Beyonce fans.
"The singer's label, Sony-owned Columbia, had hoped to have new Beyonce music out by spring, which turned out to be a pipe dream. Now, it looks like a fall release may not be feasible. Columbia had its sights set on a big fourth-quarter bow by Beyonce, both to compete with high-profile releases by Universal Music's Lady Gaga and Katy Perry and to capitalize on her massive Mrs. Carter tour," reports THR.
It's also believed that Columbia is very anxious due to Beyonce's last album, "4," which is her lowest selling album to-date.
"4 was her lowest seller at 1.4 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and it failed to produce a buzzy pop hit, despite decent positioning on the R&B charts," reports THR.
That said, there are some, including Clear Channel's President of National Programming, that are hoping for a big hit, like "Single Ladies," from Beyonce.
"Anticipation is high and expectations are, too," Tom Poleman shared in a recent interview.
To slam the Hollywood Reporter story, a rep for the entertainer told the Huffington Post recently that the project is not delayed, insisting a release date was never scheduled.
Thoughts?
In other news, Beyonce's "The Mrs. Carter Show" tour has grossed at least $55.6 million since it kicked off in the Spring. Beyonce was also spotted at Target recently and she even picked up copies of her hubby's album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," and her sister, Kelly Rowland's album, "Talk A Good Game" (as pictured), showing support.
Are you eagerly anticipating Beyonce’s upcoming album? Well, hold your horses because it looks like you’ll have to wait until 2014. That’s right, the release date has been pushed back and major changes have been made in the album’s production.
Reports suggest that songs by Ne-Yo, who was originally involved in the project, have been scrapped in a shake up of the album’s direction. This news has left fans wondering what kind of sound Beyonce will be going for now. Will it be drastically different from her previous work or will she stick to what she knows best?
Only time will tell as we patiently await the release of this highly anticipated album.
Major Changes in Beyonce’s Upcoming Album
You’re gonna be disappointed to hear that Beyonce’s upcoming album has undergone major changes, and all those songs by Ne-Yo you were looking forward to have been scrapped.
According to reports, the album was supposed to be released this year but has now been pushed back to 2014. The reason for the delay? Queen B wants to make sure that the album is perfect.
It seems like Beyonce is taking a more hands-on approach with her new album, which isn’t a surprise given her recent split from her longtime manager/father. She’s reportedly working with a team of producers and songwriters to create something that truly represents where she is in her life right now.
And if that means scrapping some songs by Ne-Yo along the way, then so be it.
Of course, this news is disappointing for fans who were eagerly anticipating new music from both Beyonce and Ne-Yo. But if there’s one thing we know about Beyonce, it’s that she never puts out anything less than perfection.
So while we may have to wait a bit longer for her new album, we can rest assured that it will be worth it in the end.
Ne-Yo’s Departure and Its Impact on the Album’s Direction
With Ne-Yo’s departure, the new direction of the anticipated project is up in the air. Fans were excited to hear that Ne-Yo was working on songs for Beyonce’s upcoming album, but now it seems those songs have been scrapped.
This shake-up has left many wondering what kind of sound we can expect from Queen Bey. Ne-Yo is a talented songwriter and producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in music. His absence from Beyonce’s album may signal a change in direction for her music.
Some speculate that she may be looking to experiment with different genres or sounds, while others think she may be taking a more personal approach to her lyrics. Whatever the case may be, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Beyonce’s new album.
With Ne-Yo out of the picture, it will be interesting to see who steps up to fill his shoes and contribute to this highly anticipated project. Will it be someone familiar or will Beyonce surprise us all by collaborating with someone completely unexpected? Only time will tell.
Conclusion
So there you have it, the latest on Beyonce’s upcoming album. It seems that major changes are in store as the release date has been pushed to 2014 and rumors suggest that songs by Ne-Yo may have been scrapped.
While this news may disappoint some fans who were eagerly anticipating new music from Queen Bey, it’s important to remember that sometimes change can lead to even greater success. With a revamped direction for the album, Beyonce has an opportunity to surprise and delight her fans with fresh sounds and innovative collaborations.
